IV Nutrient Therapy San Diego

IV Nutrient Therapy is the process of giving concentrated levels of vital nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and amino acids directly into the bloodstream through an IV. IV therapy can achieve high nutrient concentration levels in the blood that are not attainable with oral supplements. In order to create a high blood concentration to receive therapeutic effects, nutrients must to be adequately absorbed and delivered to the cell. Even with the highest quality oral supplements and food, there can be issues that prevent absorption and use of nutrients. With certain nutrients, IV therapy provides up to 10 times the absorption of oral supplementation.

When our bodies are taxed mentally and/or physically, by an intense workout, a challenging workday, or a stressful life event, we require higher levels of nutrients to repair tissue damage, maintain mental focus, and restore energy.

What is vitamin B12?

Vitamin B-12 is a water based soluble that helps keep your nerves and red blood cells healthy.  This vitamin is essential for healthy hair, skin, and nails.  It aids in cell reproduction and constant renewal of skin as well as protects against heart disease by improving cholesterol levels.  It is more effective when taken at regular intervals.  Unlike many other vitamins, B12 is not excreted quickly in the urine.

Benefits of vitamin B12?

B12 helps with the production of red blood cells and enhances your immune system. It will help increase energy, mental clarity and metabolism. These vitamins assist the body in making neurotransmitters that are essential for brain development and function.  B12 is easily absorbed by the body and then utilized in the formation of red blood cells, as well as aiding in the maintenance of a healthy nervous and cardiovascular system.

Do you need a B12 Well shot?  If you answer ‘yes’ to any of the below, then most likely you do.

• Feeling fatigued and on the verge of being sick?  Fatigue can occur for many reasons, lack of sleep, poor nutrition, use of stimulants/caffeine, and prolonged stress.

• Need a boost of energy & help with your metabolism?

• Do you have brain fog?

• Having a hard time sleeping?  Our patients have reported better sleep after receiving our B-Well Shot.

• Are you experiencing depression?  Research shows that clients who supplement with B12 vitamin shots report less depression.  B12 helps play a role in the manufacture of brain chemicals.  Other people with depression have low plasma levels of cobalt, a mineral that forms from the center of the B12 molecule.

How often can I get a vitamin shot?

Most patients typically get a vitamin shot once per week. If you are feeling tired or ill you will benefit from getting more than one injection per week.

Why is it better to receive an injection vs. taking an oral supplement?

The stomach acids that aid in the natural digestion of food will break down the oral supplement in your stomach, and only allow the body to absorb a small amount of the actual vitamins. Vitamin injections (IMs) and IVs provide a direct method of supplying the body with nutrients. Vitamin injections also provide the patient with a 100% absorption of the nutrients which allow the patient’s body to utilize more of the desired nutrients and aid in the overall performance and function of their body.

How long does a vitamin injection last in the body?

Vitamin injections are eliminated through the urine, typically between 24 and 72 hours depending on how active a person is and the amount of fluids they take in. Due to the rapid rate with which the body processes vitamins, frequent supplementation is needed to address deficiencies and gain maximum benefits. We recommend an injection once per week to prevent illness or fatigue, but it can be done daily if needed.

Does it hurt?

Vitamin shots are relatively painless.   Some feel a little pinch, and most do not feel the needle at all. Because of our nurses’ expertise and the technique, we use at Spark Health, our patients report that they didn’t feel anything and that it was virtually painless.

Where is the shot administered?

The most common locations are administered in your buttock / glute muscle.

When you want to stay away from all illnesses and avoid getting sick, you must have a strong immune system.  In order for you to have a strong, healthy immune system, you must eat healthy, take vitamins, and be active.
