Though it’s doubtful they’ll last long in your household (hello, delicious!) these healthy bars will cure any chocolate craving.  Let Dr. Aliza Cicerone show you a healthy chocolate treat.

Sweet & Salty Almond Bars

  1. 2 cups almonds
  2. ½ cup unsweetened shredded coconut, plus additional for garnish
  3. 1 cup dark chocolate bar, chopped
  4. ½ cup creamy almond butter
  5. ½ cup ground flax seeds
  6. ½ teaspoon sea salt
  7. ½ cup coconut oil, softened
  8. 20 drops liquid vanilla stevia (optional)
  1. Place all ingredients in a food processor.
  2. Pulse until ingredients form a coarse paste.
  3. Press mixture into an 8 inch x 8 inch glass baking dish. Sprinkle with coconut flakes
  4. and chopped chocolate.
  5. Chill in refrigerator for 1 hour, until mixture hardens.
  6. Remove from refrigerator, cut into bars and serve.
